Peacoat Memorial
For those who never found their way home.
Joe Zikewich of USS Lexington-WWII is the creator of the Peacoat Monument. This monument is dedicated to all military personnel — from all branches of service — who gave their lives for this country and are buried beneath the oceans and seas around the world.
There is no cross to mark the grave where they now lie. Rarely are they or their families given the recognition for what they have done in service to our country. This is our way of saying thanks to those that are lost to us — proud to honor those who never found their way home.
